Position DescriptionAs a part of the Business Insights team, this individual will be responsible to build world class reporting and analytical solution for Ally’s Auto Asset Management team. Also as Senior Operations Analyst at Ally you will leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problemsJob Responsibilities* Retrieve data from multiple data sources and build data pipelines using SQL, SAS or Python* Partner with the business to provide consultancy and translate the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.* Develop operational and analytical dashboards using Power BI/Tableau/Cognos.* Possess Data Warehousing principals and concepts to help build reporting data marts in Oracle and Big Data.* Advanced working knowledge of SQL, SAS, and Database to be able to write complex SQL statements to produce reports and build data tables.* Working knowledge of Big data concepts and data retrieval from Hadoop ecosystem.* Stays current with industry trends and leads the development of key data/analytics innovation platforms* Collaborates with governance teams to design and implement common data standards to enable consistent and accurate reporting for the business* Partner with senior management to understand and deliver key analytic solutions using Big Data to facilitate performance insights* Ensure stability, performance, and support of production reporting and meet the demand for data across Analytic teamsQualificationsRequired:* A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or similar discipline with a quantitative focus* 3 – 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of (or exposure to) portfolio servicing operations in consumer finance* 5+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field* Experience with SQL, data warehousing, statistical analysis tools, MS Excel, and data visualization tools like Power BI, Cognos or Tableau; experience extracting and processing data using SQL, SAS and Excel* Experience gathering business requirements, using industry-standard business intelligence tools to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports* Analytical drive to break down complex problems, and a strong will to deliver results* Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment* Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams* Quick learner and has demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and execute small to medium scale projects* Work well within a team of analysts and collaborate with individuals with technical and non-technical backgrounds* Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment with tight deadlinesPreferred:* Masters Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics discipline* 7+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field* Advanced knowledge in developing queries and procedures in SAS (ex. EG) and SQL* Background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems* Experience in using R, Python or a similar programming language to analyze data* Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting and visualizations using BI tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Business Objects, etc.)* Experience in Big Data Hadoop framework and utilizing open-source tech stack to query data* Experience in scripting languages for parsing and data analysis.Ally OverviewAlly Financial Inc.
