ABOUT THIS POSITION KBR requires a Data Analyst, located in the Dayton, OH, area to perform advanced business analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining. Working closely with our customer to identify analytical requirements, the Data Analyst will determine best practices and develop actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations or issues. Day-to-day, the primary tasks include (1) migration of data from legacy systems (2) store data in a custom-built Oracle database, and (3) gather and apply business rules to the data so it can be ingested by an Oracle ERP application. Practical problem solving with data will involve a wide variety of different business scenarios. As such, some domain knowledge on basic accounting, database structures, and statistical analysis are all important as a foundation. Specific sub-tasks associated to this role are as follows: * Load data received from legacy systems in various formats (CSV, Excel, database tables, etc) into Oracle tables. * Translate and document Subject Matter Expert’s (SME) requirements into text-based Business Rules. * Translate Business Rules into SQL code and apply them to the data in correct sequence. * Present results of Business Rules application to SMEs in meaningful format in order to validate and evolve the data and business Rules into acceptable data package. * Prepare the data to be ingested by the Oracle ERP application, following the constraints imposed by the Target system. * Occasionally use reporting tools to change the appearance of the query results in order to be presentable (format the output data, using colors, ordering, etc) to various audiences for validation. * There is a possibility that the data storage environment will be Cloud-based instead of Oracle. In that case, different tools will be employed to accomplish loading, applying business rules, and preparing the data (those tools are listed below). BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : * Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of Information Systems Security experience * DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret The Data Analyst must have and be able to demonstrate comprehensive experience/knowledge of: * Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience. * Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD. * Oracle Relational Database concepts and design. * Microsoft Excel. * Structured Query Language (SQL) – for both Data Manipulation Language (DML) to alter data and Data Definition Language (DDL) to create and alter database structures. * Procedural Language Extensions to Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) to perform complex data manipulation. * Migrating Data from disparate formats (such as Excel, or comma-separated variable text files) into an Oracle database. * Establishing timelines for both quick-turn and longer-term projects and tracking progress through completion The ideal candidate will also have experience with the following: * Microsoft Visio. * Microsoft PowerPoint. * Cloud-based environments: * Spark (SQL queries). * Kylo (data ingest and preparation). * Nifi (workflow). * Oracle ERP architecture and components for data migration. * Supply-based documentation and management of Items. * Engineering-base documentation and management of Parts and Assemblies. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: * Multi-Tasking. * Problem solving. * Critical and Creative Thinking. * Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening) * Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills. * Must be comfortable working in a very dynamic, fluid environment and enjoy problem solving. * Experience in life cycle support on developmental programs. * Experience collaborating with Program Offices on Weapon Systems Programs. * Experience engaging with customers at both tactical and strategic levels.
