Job Overview

IEM is seeking Data Engineer (Level III )who is eligible for obtaining Secret Clearance Level III he selected candidate will work in an integrated team of Government and Contractor personnel to develop guidance and a framework for consistently implementing AIML projects across the DOD enterprise. Level III Data Engineers, in addition to providing guidance and direction to junior data engineers, will engage with multiple functional groups to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, help to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation, and design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutions. The selected candidate should be able to identify and implement scalable and efficient coding solutions. Candidate must be able to obtain and retain at a minimum a SECRET clearance, with the preference to be able to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance. Active TS level is preferred. Location Can be either Arlington, VA or Washington, DC The candidate must meet the following educational and experience requirements Masterrsquos degree or PhD in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field 8+ years of relevant work experience (6+ with Masterrsquos Degree)” Demonstrated experience in custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets and ability to use predictive models. Ability to develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy and coordinate with other functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes Major Duties Lead the configuration and ingestion of designated structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories into capabilities that satisfy mission partner requirements and support a data analytics and DevOps pipeline to drive rapid delivery of functionality to the client Lead the maintenance of all operational aspects of data transfers while accounting for the security posture of the underlying infrastructure and the systems and applications that are supported and monitoring the health of the environment through a variety of health tracking capabilities Automate configuration management, leverage tools, and stay current on data extract, transfer, and load (ETL) technologies and services Lead the development of approaches to solutions, review architecture, and identify areas for automation, optimization, right-sizing, and cost reduction to support the overall health of the environment Apply comprehension of data engineering-specific technologies and services, leverage expertise in databases and a variety of approaches to structuring and retrieving of data, comprehend Cloud architectural constructs, and support the establishment and maintenance of Cloud environments programmatically using vendor consoles Engage with multiple functional groups to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, help to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation, and design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutions Identify and implement scalable and efficient coding solutions Required SkillsExperience Experience with Big Data systems Experience with ETL processes Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or MilCloud 2.0 Experience applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and automating that process Experience with two or more coding languages, including Python IEM is an Equal Opportunity Employer including Vets and Disabled We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
