Amyx is seeking to hire a dynamic and highly-interpersonal individual to serve as a Data Analyst to support the Change Management and Knowledge Management (CMKM) team at the USTRANSCOM office in O’Fallon, IL.The Data Analyst is a key member of the Logistics Knowledge Management Team imbedded within, and in direct support to, the USTRANSCOM J5/4 Sustainment Distribution Planning and Management (SDP&M) process. This team supports the commands Joint Deployment and Distribution Coordinator (JDDC) role by enhancing the JDDEs ability to ensure an agile, scalable, and resilient distribution network. The data analyst is critical to supporting the USTRANSCOM J5/4s process migration to a more data-centric and GIS-enabled approach.The data analyst develops and maintains a current listing of various geospatial data sources and services and recommends enhancements to data solutions to improve processes, data reliance, and integrated visualization of distribution data sources. In this role, the data analyst will leverage multiple data sources such as ISDDC, IGC, NHAT, GATES, TRDM, EDAE, as well as COGNOS, csv, and txt data outputs from other organizations such as J6, JDPAC, TCCs and other DoD and commercial data sources as required to support distribution network planning. The data analyst is required to acquire, cleanse, align, and conflate data from multiple data sources to produce original data sets. Additionally, the data analyst will export those data products in the formats necessary to be integrated into documents as well as formats to support GIS depiction.Responsibilities and Daily Tasks:As a data analyst on this team, the job is to provide visualization, process improvement, and/or automation in order to improve efficiencies, reduce or eliminate duplicative work and ultimate provide authoritative data reports and visualizations enabling users access to information and senior leaders the ability to make data driven decisions.You must be able to conceptualize a project from start to finish, identifying the appropriate data and methodologies to use and deliver customer-accepted visualization products. You will leverage the clients data assets to answer business questions using best practices and innovative approaches. This will mean employing various data science tools (Python, R, Julia, Scala) and techniques (dimensionality reduction, unsupervised learning, supervised learning) to create and test machine learning algorithms.You will research, develop, and apply statistical and machine learning model workflows and tools such as Argo and Kubeflow Pipelines to build, train, and test new machine learning models, such as ModelDB to carry out model tuning, data and model provenance, and storing trained models. You will develop analytic models and tools using a variety of commercial-off-the-shelf and open source capabilities like Jupyter or Zeppelin notebooks and exposed application programing interfaces, as well as business intelligence, and visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, and COGNOS. Once tested and verified you will work with development teams to implement solutions as a scalable, hosted service. In this role, you will own and share technical solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams both internally and with external clients.Required Skills and Qualifications:+ Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, other quantitative discipline or equivalent experience+ Secret Clearance+ US Citizenship+ Demonstrated strong working knowledge of MS SharePoint+ Demonstrated ability to learn new technical tools and software applications+ 2+ years data mining experience+ 3-5 years data analysis experience:+ Programming: Proficient coding in a language suited for machine learning systems such as SQL, Python, or R (not reliant on GUI-based systems to execute analysis) for the purpose of cleaning, manipulating, visualizing, and analyzing data+ Data Visualization: Proficient in business intelligence and data visualization tools such as COGNOS, Tableau+ Web Development: Experience with web development through the usage of HTML/CSS/JavaScript+ Reports: Experience producing reports suitable for technical and non-technical audiences+ Ability to interact professionally and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with government customers to obtain information, respond to inquiries, analyze documentation, and resolve issues+ Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage numerous projects and work processes+ Ability to carry out assignments with minimal supervision as well as work effectively as a part of a team+ Teamwork: Must be accountable for individual responsibilities while working collaboratively with development and engineering teams to achieve project deliverablesDesired Skills and Qualifications:+ Master’s Degree preferredAmyx is an Equal Opportunity employer.
