DESCRIPTION

The Games Finance Analytics Team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in Seattle. This is your opportunity to be a core part of the team that has direct impact on affecting the long-term roadmap of Amazon Games Studios.

As a Data Scientist, you will discover and solve real world problems by analyzing large amounts of business data, defining new metrics and business cases, designing simulations and experiments, creating models, and collaborating with colleagues in business, software, and research. You will get the exciting opportunity to work on some of the world’s largest and diverse datasets. The successful candidate will have a strong quantitative background and can thrive in an environment that leverages statistics, machine learning, operations research, econometrics, and business analysis.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree
· 3+ years of experience with data scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)
· 2 years working as a Data Scientist
· 5 years of relevant work experience in data science or related field
· Must have two years of experience in the following skills: building statistical models and machine learning models using large datasets from multiple resources
· Experience using database technologies including SQL, ETL, or SPSS
· Expertise applying specialized modelling software (e.g. SAS, R, Python, Matlab, or Stata)
· Design and scripting experience in one of the following: Python, Perl, Shell script
· Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner, using visualization (e.g. creating dashboards) and narrative formats

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner, using visualization (e.g. creating dashboards) and narrative formats
· Capable of investigating, familiarizing and mastering new data sets quickly
· Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive results
· Experience in working and delivering end-to-end projects independently
· Solid communication skills and team player
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities
· Experience with time-series modelling
· Experience with multiple database platforms is a plus
· Experience with Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologies
· Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional stakeholders and partner
