The vision for the next 2 to 3 years is the Ads Long-term Bets track, which has developed into a machine that can consistently and repeatedly create the next major win for Ads Ranking and the AI org is indispensable to this work. Our strategy is to improve the relevance of ads that people see in order to make them more meaningful and to enhance the value of these ads to advertisers.We are looking for a strong statistical and business thinker to be responsible for driving AIbusiness strategy for measurement and experimentation. We’re facing increased challengesincluding the large number of candidates (ranking algorithm changes) to test and lowdetectability where standard A/B testing doesn’t work. In this role, you’ll work with researchscientists and engineers to identify and develop advanced experimentation methods at Internet-scale to help ranking engineers fast iterate on ideas.Data Scientist, Analytics – AI Business ResponsibilitiesApply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with both our consumer and business products.Define problems and opportunities in a complex or ambiguous area.Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches.Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify new levers to improve user experience.Influencing product teams through presentation of data-based recommendations, and clearly communicating state of business, experiment results, etc. to product teams.Minimum QualificationsMS or other advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Physics, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.Proven experience with applied problems in experimentation and causal inference.At least 4 years of industry research experience with Internet experiments in A/B tests.7+ years experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.Experience in SQL or other programming languages.Understanding of statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, regressions, ML systems).Experience communicating the results of analyses with product and leadership teams to influence the strategy of the product.Preferred QualificationsPhD in statistics, political science, economics, biostatistics, or related field, and proven experience for applied problems in experimentation and causal inference.Experience in machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis, or social network analysis.Experience with any scripting language such as Python or R.Experience with distributed computing in Hive or Hadoop.
