Job Overview

Solidus is searching for a Data Scientist with a background in data analysis, forecasting and prediction, optimization, and machine learning to work on a variety of problems related to threat detectionidentification and transportation logistics. The candidate will join a group that develops technologies that use advanced sensors, data analytics, and integrated human-machine decision making to help recognize and disrupt threats to the U.S. Homeland. Tasks may include – Data discovery and modeling – Assessment of efficiency and effectiveness – Evaluation, verification, and validation of different algorithms – Short and long term prediction of transportation demand – Optimal allocation, routing, and scheduling of transportation resources with changing requirements and constraints – Training, assessing, and modifying objection detection, identification, and tracking algorithms for objects of interest Required skills – ship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance – MS plus 3 years of experience or BS plus 5 years in applied mathematics, computer science, statistics, operations research, or a related field – Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, Tableau) – Experience with a high-level programming language (e.g., Python, Java, CC++) – Strong data analysis, communication, and technical writing skills – Experience with machine learning, computer vision, statistical modeling and simulation – Ability to work with a team to design, develop, test, analyze, and validate complex models and analytics Preferred skills – Basic proficiency with databases and query languages – Experience with data science and data visualization – Experience with systems engineering Job ID 3748 Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
