Description We are looking for experienced data scientists who want to work on cutting-edge web technologies to help us build the future of product discovery experience. We are reinventing our internal tools through metrics, machine learning, automation, and user-centered design for our client. We have autonomy and flexibility on our tech stack, which has allowed us to adopt new industry trends. Our new solutions will empower our client to spot opportunities and to immediately improve the knowledge graph. A successful candidate will be a person who enjoys diving deep into data, doing analysis, discovering root causes, and designing long-term solutions. Responsibilities Assist customers by being able to deliver an ML project from beginning to end, including understanding the business need, aggregating data, exploring data, building validating predictive models, and deploying completed models with concept-drift monitoring and retraining to deliver business impact to the organization Use AWS AI services (e.g., Personalize), ML platforms (SageMaker), and frameworks (e.g., MXNet, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SparkML, scikit-learn) to help our customers build ML models Research and implement novel ML approaches, including hardware optimizations on platforms such as AWS Inferentia Work with our other Professional Services consultants (Big Data, IoT, HPC) to analyze, extract, normalize, and label relevant data, and with our Professional Services engineers to operationalize customers models after they are prototyped Basic Qualifications Masters in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent) 2 years of experience working in data science in a consumer product company, managing Machine Learning Scientists, Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists, andor Economists Ability to distill informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives Excellent capability working and manipulating data and developing software application in programming languages such as Python Good communication skills with both technical and business people Experience designingimplementing machine learning algorithms tailored to particular business needs and tested on large datasets Experience in data mining and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent) 5 years of experience working in data science in a consumer product company, managing Machine Learning Scientists, Data Scientists, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists, andor Economists Strong knowledge of Python and one or more scripting language (Java, Perl) Experience building on AWS using S3, EC2, Redshift, Aurora, Lambda, QuickSight, etc. Delivered one or more production web applications (500+ users) using a modern Python JavaScript framework Experience with modeling sequential data, statistical forecasting, and time series models Familiarity with optimization models such as Linear Programming and Integer Programming Strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies with high customer impactData Scientist with AWS + Python 1
