**City** Rochester**State** Minnesota**Telecommute** Yes**Department** Information Technology**Why Mayo Clinic**Healthcare IT seeking Senior Developer / Programmer / ETL Developer – Data Engineer**Position description**Responsible for developing data ingestion and data processing pipelines to be utilized by Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL). In conjunction with more senior technical staff and MCL partners, develops batch and real-time pipelines that address specific customer needs. Architect and implement Extraction, Transformation, Load (ETL) and other data processing pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and similar tools. Possess deep understanding of batch and real-time data pipelines. Willing to learn new data processing and ETL tools as team transitions from on premise database to Google Cloud. Ability to work on multiple initiatives and ability to reprioritize based on changing demands.Evaluates alternative approaches and presents recommendations to teams and unit leadership. Regularly reviews applications and makes modifications and/or updates to ensure currency and functionality within established environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, inquisitive, and able to take on new challenges without having all the parameters. Open to new learning and not afraid to pose difficult questions. Ability to work with cross-functional teams is a must.Qualification:+ Knowledge and experience in Data Warehousing and Data Analysis.+ 5+ Years’ experience with SQL.+ 3+ Years’ experience with ETL tools such as SSIS.+ Experience with loading data into Google BigQuery is a plus.+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.+ Ability to organize, schedule and prioritize work to meet various schedules and objectives.+ Strong analytical, troubleshooting/problem solving, and time management skills.+ Willingness to learn new data processing tools.**Qualifications**Bachelors degree and 3 years experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience;Or, Associates degree and 7 years experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience.This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.**Additional qualifications**Applies effective system design principles and software development methodologies. Demonstrated ability to multi-task among multiple complex assigned tasks/projects. Evidence of strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills and ability to adjust the message as appropriate to the audiences of varying technical capabilities. Evidence of project management skills. Possesses an objective and positive attitude with all tasks and projects. Possesses a high level of project and deliverable consistency through demonstrated repeatable and reliable performance. Evidence of ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and ability to work independently. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.**Exemption status** Exempt**Compensation Detail**Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
