Job Overview

Role Summary This role is the primary point of contact and accountability for an IT development team that will support the Decision Sciences and Analytics Business Unit. This will consist of analytics data integration services, including core foundational master and reference data, and operationationalizing analytical models which are designed and prototyped by the Decision Sciences Business Unit. Additional responsibilities include life cycle planning of Decision Sciences data integration needs through strategize, architect, designbuildprocure, deploy, operate, evolve and retire for defined and future analytics products within the US and Canada. Expected to create a well-run team that can sustain credibility with the business users within the Decision Sciences Business Unit, while working directly with and adhering to Data Governance standards and processes. Responsibility includes Leadership and management of development delivery team personnel, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps. Creation and alignment of a data analytics integration technology roadmap to business strategyoutcomes Plan and execute upon data analytics integration technology investment projects in alignment with enterprise priorities in a cost effective, timely manner Provide production support for defined data and analytics products Business unit satisfaction levels for data analytic integration products and services Accountable for delivering upon IT Key Performance Indicators Role Responsibilities Leadership and Management Oversee all activities that optimize the value, cost and risk of application products. Understand, advocate and communicate company objectives, vision and strategy to staff to ensure contribution towards achieving VCI s goals Develop productive relationships with Business Unit leaders across the organization to influence how data integration technology solutions can enable new sources of value Establish and monitor individual team member objectives and competencies in alignment with Talent Management practices Recruiting (interviewing and hiring), appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees (as required), training, succession planning, coaching, addressing complaints and resolving problems, work planning, assignment and direction Work with the Director of IT Data Operations and Analytics, the Director of Decision Sciences, and Enterprise Architecture to develop overall IT strategytechnology blueprints for data analytics integration in alignment with the business strategy for advanced analytics and certified data. Ensure that data analytics integration processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards. Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they are cost-effectively meeting the needs of the organization in a socially and compliant manner. Implement action plans where necessary to improve Business Unit satisfaction levels for data repositories and associated processes in support of Decision Sciences Data Analytics Integration Governance, Strategy and Delivery Ensure that data analytics integration products cost-effectively meet the needs of the business as a whole Overseeing the assessment of the technical data integration and business fitness of the product portfolio including associated costs and risks Working with the Decision Sciences business unit portfolio management team to create a data integration technology investment portfolio that is aligned to the enterprise priorities and defines investment deliverables aligned to business outcomes within the limitations of the Business Unit annual budget Working with stakeholders to accomplish this data analytics integration product work in a way that improves the business and technical fitness of the application portfolio and minimizes its ongoing support costs Overseeing benefits realization to ensure the business outcomes are achieved Overseeingmanaging production support activities in conjunction with infrastructure and operations to ensure the data analytics and integration products perform well in production Working with IT Security and Data Governance to ensure that the organization’s data analytics and integration products are effectively secured and that risks are mitigated Budgeting, Finance and Administration Responsible for the day-to-day management of the of master, certified and analytics integration products which serve business units across the enterprise through Decision Sciences. This includes staffing, budgeting and other relevant management functions. Also responsible for holding the IT delivery team accountable for optimizing the cost, risk and value throughout the projectproduct life cycle. Experience Required 10+ years experience in data analytics integration solutions with an emphasis on Decision Sciences and core master and certified data. This includes foundational constructs such as Master and Reference data, as well as integration solutions for analytical playgrounds and repositories such as data lakes (on prem and in the cloud) with responsibility of a 4.0M budget or greater 5+ years experience in management role, managing a high performing team of 7+ employees in data integration development, implementation and ongoing product support Experience in big data solutions Education Required B.S., B.A. in Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent job experience. Desired PMP Certification a plus Advanced Degree a plus General Skills Resource Management Proven ability to lead and direct development project teams in both traditional and agile development methodologies (XP, CICD, TDD, KanBan) Demonstrated record of strong leadership and motivational skills resulting in quality products, high employee retention and morale within their teams Financial, Business Technology Acumen Cost accounting, forecasting and budgeting capabilities Demonstrated knowledge of project management life cycle and hands-on experience and proficiency using full project life-cycle methodologies and tools Strong business technology acumen in data analytics integration. Forward thinking and entrepreneurial mindset that delivers upon the company s strategy to be a data driven organization Relationship Management Establishmanage relationships with Decision Sciences and other Business Unit leaders to ensure convergence and strategic partnering in data integration and advanced analytics needs Proactively identify data integration and analytics opportunities through thought leadership Ensure business value realization and optimization Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal) and sharp business acumen ability to communicate and present to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical Negotiation and conflict resolution skills ability to create an open environment where conflicts as to project priorities and funding decisions can be aired and resolved in an objective manner Ability to break down major issues and problems into workable pieces see whole situation behind a problem or issue able to understand causes, effects and implications Specialized Skills Required Experience in the data integration analytics domain including data warehouse, data lake, ETL and API development Experience with master and reference data for core foundational schemas such as customer and product (specifically vehicle) Experience or working knowledge of industry data quality or MDM solutions Ability to understand how internal structured and unstructured data are related and the methods to integrate and extract this information to serve business needs Desired Experience or working knowledge of R, Python, SAS, Spark, Kafka, Impala, Hadoop and Hive Experience or working knowledge with cloud data integration toolsets (AWS – Kinesis, Glue, S3, Redshift) Experience in Financial Services (automotive finance preferable) Work Flexibility Up to 25 Travel Flexibility to work outside of core hours (Monday Friday) to support business demand and IT data operations We are proud to be an EEO employer MFDV.
