Job Description

TITLE: Manager Data Science

DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Manager Data Science in Riverwoods, IL to provide thought leadership & strategic thinking to translate business problem into analytical framework(s), and independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithm & recommendation to solve business problems. Manage priorities and sets of analysts, assign projects and allocate resource, communicate business performance and project progress to management & business partners. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling and application, and financial impact analysis. Establish and maintain effective performance tracking; identify improvement opportunity, form hypothesis, propose, design and implement tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Facilitate implementation of work product and ensure accuracy. Ensure standard work processes and documentation requirements are timely and consistently followed by team. Encourage continuous improvement of team processes and share across functional teams to ensure consistency.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics or a related field and six (6) years of experience in job offered or related position: Recommending improvements to work process and solving business problems; leading the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning; and utilizing technologies including SAS, SQL, Tableau, Excel VBA, UNIX, and R. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in the above listed skills.
