Job Summary: The Enterprise Data Foundations team is looking to add a Senior Data Analyst to their group. This role is responsible for being the chief liaison between internal and external clients seeking new data from the Enterprise Data Platform. This role is highly customer facing and will define and deliver requirements to the platform team for the addition of valuable data sets into the platform. This role leads conversations with clients in understanding what data they need in the platform, drives requirements for the platform team to deliver, and leads UAT, communication, and change management efforts to ensure awareness of new data for users. They will also focus on improving processes, making teams more efficient, and recommending data sources for customers to improve their analytic and product needs. This role is highly autonomous, must self-initiate most work items and balance multiple efforts concurrently. It is the goal of this role to become a strong business partner with consumers using data from the platform, and to be a trusted and pro-active advisor to them. Primary Responsibilities: Requirements Analysis Work with internal and external clients to capture requirements on data needed from the enterprise data platform using various techniques such as workshop facilitation, data analysis, collaboration meetings, and task and workflow analysis. Conduct investigative analysis that identifies business value and purpose of requests, how the user needs to access the data, and objectively prioritizes order of execution for platform ingestion team to meet customer needs Combine all business requirements into a clear, actively managed, prioritized backlog Have an active understanding of existing use cases, analysis, products, or processes that currently leverage the data Create use cases, user stories, functional specifications, diagrams and technical documentation as needed to articulate requirements. Data Delivery & Quality Partner with delivery team on ingestion, holding them accountable for solution development and execution Support the delivery team as they develop the data management pipeline, clarifying expectations from the customer to ensure appropriate delivery Work with the delivery stream and release train to resolve cross release train and delivery stream prioritization. Attend daily standup with the full delivery team to understand status on items and assist with clarification of blockers, escalating when needed to the release train or delivery stream Lead management of the Trello board for ideation and communication updates to users; ensure synchronization with active feature status in Rally Lead user acceptance testing to determine completeness of requirements. Consultative Guidance Actively work with analysts and clients providing coaching and guidance. Lead troubleshooting of problems and assist in getting problems appropriately prioritized, assigned, fixed, tested, and closed. Assist peers, partners, and customers with data analyses that help them learn how to use the data, answer specific questions on the data, and collaborate on insights from data Provide subject matter expertise to teams, customers and leaders. Champion team health, removing blockers to progress and encouraging healthy interaction. Consult and provide research leading to strategic decisions. Change Management and Communications: Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, using appropriate messaging and context Pro-actively create and distribute communications announcing the arrival of and enhancement to data managed by the platform as it is available Maintain informative release notes on Product Sharepoint site Partner with Data Operations to develop plan and execute user conversion off Redshift to Snowflake environments Process Modeling Discover and document current business processes using process modeling techniques, performing gap analysis, and identifying areas for improvement. Partner with Engineering on developing best practices and communications on platform monitoring and communication of data issues to downstream customers Collaborate with delivery team on ingestion process and ways to increase efficiency of delivery times Partner with Data Operations on entitlement needs and upcoming data additions, as well as developing ideas for further automation of processes between Collibra, Snowflake, and the platform Qualifications: Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related field 6+ years of Data Analysis experience. Working experience in software development and/or testing in an enterprise web-based system Working experience capturing high level business requirements and decomposing them into user stories or specifications Working experience creating use cases, user stories, business requirements specifications, functional specifications, process flow diagrams Working experience writing SQL queries Working experience communicating, writing, and presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences Working experience in delivering software products in an engineering or operations role Working experience in development life cycle methodologies (e.g. waterfall, agile, iterative) Who We Are About Cox Automotive There’s nothing ordinary about Cox Automotive.
