The successful candidate will enjoy providing ideas based on past experience and getting hands on with new and existing tools to create proofs of concept as well as production ready delivery. The most suitable candidates will be flexible and forward-leaning, and working hand-in-hand with the data and software architects to execute holistic solutions to achieve results for the client.Required Skills and Experience:10+ years in a data engineering role including databases, data integration, data mining, big dataExperience working on a software development program with complex data management needsStrong SQL experience on large complex data systemsExperience designing for and enforcing data qualityExperience understanding information security controls related to dataKnowledge of the Python pandas packageExperience with AWS-specific data management strategiesExperience with data modeling and normalization conceptsExperience architecting and building structures for reporting, such as data warehouses, data marts, data lakesAbility to learn new tools quickly as needed to provide new ideas for solving problemsAbility and desire to design and execute data-related development tasks to complete proofs of concept and production ready workAbility and desire to work with other program staff and customers to reach design decisions within given constraintsExcellent diplomacy and communication skills with both clients and technical staffAbility to place success of team and project ahead of selfClearance: Public Trust or the ability to obtain Preferred Skills and Experience:Experience designing data structures for a microservices environment (to be state)Experience with no SQL databasesProficiency in scripting languagesExperience with database task automation to support CI/CD processFamiliarity with several of these tools: DB2, Oracle, SAP, Postgres, Elastic Search, Glacier, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Hadoop, Splunk, SAP HANA, DatabricksIntegration experience with AWS services such as Athena, Redshift and/or S3 bucketsExperience with AWS serverless data transformation experience (such as with Glue)Experience working with federal government clientsExperience with ETL and business intelligence tools (Informatica)Knowledge of Jupyter notebooks with Python code and PandasEducation:Bachelor’s degree requiredOver 20 years ago Dev Technology began providing IT solutions to meet the mission-critical needs of federal government by exceeding our clients’ expectations through partnership, a commitment to team work, collaboration, and valuing our employees.
