Then you may be an excellent candidate for an exciting role as a Health Economics Data Analyst within our Health Economics and Market Access team supporting Boston Scientific’s Urology and Pelvic Health Division. A fundamental priority for this position will be using both claims based and longitudinal datasets to conduct analytic research that supports the global adoption of Boston Scientific products and solutions.Your responsibilities include:* Utilize knowledge of available data assets (e.g. Medicare claims data, CMS payment information, commercial payer datasets, longitudinal data) to identify research opportunities and define/execute analyses in support of business unit objectives.* Analyze large medical claim data sets for identifying and interpreting patterns and trends in the data to support to BSC business needs.* Partner with key physician leaders and health economists in developing data analytic questions, protocols, economic tools, and communication strategies, including but not limited to value dossiers, value briefs, peer reviewed and trade publications.* Identify and assess key health economics and outcomes research planning needs and help develop and implement health economics and market access strategies for division’s emerging technologies and commercially marketed products.* Prepare financial models and projections including models that display the impact of interventions and technologies on providers and payers.* Participate in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) studies including multi-cohort longitudinal patient analysis using available healthcare claim datasets.* Conduct analysis and research on government and private payer policies.* Prepare summaries of analysis including project objectives, approach and results.* Maintain and foster a collaborative relationship with cross-functional colleagues such as, Marketing, Clinical, R&D, Legal and others.* Maintain high standards for data quality, reporting, and timely project executionWhat we’re looking for:The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills in the areas of real-world evidence and longitudinal data analytics, health economics and outcomes research, technical report writing, and evidence planning. The position requires the candidate to be current in the field and able to work in a wide array of settings.Basic Qualifications:* Minimum 5-7 years in large real-world database analysis, health economics and outcomes research, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology arena.* Masters’ degree or higher (e.g., MS, MPH, PhD, DrPH) or equivalent.* Proficiency in development of technical report, abstracts, and manuscripts.* Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and global healthcare systems including health technology assessment.Preferred Qualifications:* Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, policy analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics or related discipline* Strong communications skills and experience developing interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.* Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision.Technical Skills* Strong SAS and SQL programming skills and knowledge of statistical methods* Proficiency with Excel including pivot tables, filtering and vlookups* Experience developing tools, reports, and other products using claims and other healthcare data* Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Cognos or other similar applications preferredAbout usAs a global medical technology leader for more than 35 years, our mission at Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) is to transform lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients.
