Senior Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer


Job Overview

NVIDIA is looking for outstanding engineers to accelerate the world’s machine learning workloads. We’re building deep integration between NVIDIA’s GPU-backed RAPIDS frameworks and all of the major cloud and on-premise machine learning platforms. This is a chance to get into the guts of the latest technologies and speed up critical ML jobs by 50x or more.We’re an interdisciplinary team, so you should expect to work directly with top experts in GPU programming and machine learning, while leading efforts to improve performance, scaling, and usability in these platforms. This is a distributed team, so you’re welcome to come into an NVIDIA office (once quarantine ends!) Or to work from home full time.What you’ll be doing:* Optimizing integration between RAPIDS machine learning libraries into popular cloud machine learning and data processing frameworks* Building bridges between RAPIDS and major distributed computing and hyperparameter optimization packages* Benchmarking and resolving performance issues* Developing reference architectures and recipes for scale-out ML in the cloud* Optionally, presenting at conferences and in webinarsWhat we need to see:* Strong programming skills, especially in Python with 10+ years of relevant experience in a programming intensive role.* MS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields* Experience with distributed computing platforms, particularly Kubernetes or the Hadoop/Spark ecosystem* Experience building and deploying containers* Familiarity with major cloud computing services* Great debugging and problem-solving skillsWays to stand out from the crowd:* Good C/C++ coding experience* Core machine learning skills (also a good opportunity to learn those if you’re not familiar yet)* Familiarity with CUDA and GPU programming (if you know it, great, if not – we’re happy to teach you!)* High-performance networking knowledge – e.g. previous work with Infiniband or Ethernet in an HPC or distributed training context* Empathy for downstream users and a desire to make their work smoother and more efficientNVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
