We are expanding the scope and scale of our global Data team. To support this growth, we’re searching for a Big Data-focused Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our team.

In this San Francisco, CA-based role, you will support all Big Data Quality initiatives. You will leverage your experience with state-of-the-art Quality Engineering tools and practices for highly scalable Data platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape Data Quality using Test/Automation Engineering for LogMeIn’s growing Data team.

  • Please note: When circumstances permit, our Data Engineering team plans to secure a shared workspace in the San Francisco Bay Area to enable in-person collaboration, team meetings, discussions etc. At that time, this position will transition from a completely remote work model to a hybrid remote/in-office work model


  • Help drive the Data team’s Framework and Automation goals by defining and establishing automation across various LogMeIn products and projects
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to help drive CI/CD best practices, (e.g. Jenkins, Yum, Docker, SonarQube, Maven, etc.)
  • Support troubleshooting of critical defects to help ensure Data Quality excellence
  • Drive to improve, optimize, and identify opportunities throughout the software development lifecycle and across Data Platforms via Automation
  • Leverage industry best practices, tools, technologies and processes to achieve excellent Data Quality results
  • Remain highly engaged and productive in a semi-remote work arrangement, (Inc. extensive utilization of GoToMeeting video conferencing for virtual team meetings, etc.)
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed Data team


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 9+ years of Software Engineering experience; 5+ years focused on Data Engineering / Data Quality

Qualified candidates will possess a mix of experiences in Software Quality Engineering/Test Automation, CI/CD, Big Data tools & technologies, and Cloud ecosystems:

  • Experience working with a relevant mix of Big Data, Hadoop, Data Warehousing, Data Mart, Data Analysis and Test Automation in AWS Cloud ecosystems
  • Advanced SQL scripting skills (mission-critical to your success in this role)
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development and maintenance of Automated Test Frameworks
  • Strong familiarity with a mix of the latest Test Automation tools, (e.g. Selenium WebDriver, Jmeter, JUnit, Pytest, Hibernate, React, TestNG, etc.), as well as Bug Management systems (e.g. Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)
  • Strong programming skills; ideally, developing in Python (strong Java or Scala skills with a willingness/ability to learn Python could work as well)
  • Experience building cutting edge tools and Automation Frameworks that enable on-tap Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) services
  • Experience working with Operating Systems as well as various Internet protocols, (e.g. REST, JSON, TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, XML)
