Job Title Sr Data Engineer Grade D06 Location Seattle Division Research and Early Development Direct Manager Principal Scientist Position Summary Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a hardworking, results-oriented individual to contribute to our informatics and data management initiatives in Research and Early Development (R/ED). This hands-on role interfaces closely with analytics teams in discovery and translational sciences that are working to better understand the mechanisms of cellular therapy product safety and efficacy. We are seeking an individual with extensive experience integrating data and building data solutions to make data accessible and meaningful for the R/ED community. Detailed Position Responsibilities Work with cross functional teams to build an integrated data platform to facilitate Cell Therapy data management and correlative analysis Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to implement new release updates, develop and deploy new or improved protocols and templates Provide on demand data processing and transfer using ETL tools using a variety of languages and frameworks including R, Python, Airflow and Docker Provide end user support on data management and search using existing template and forms Collaborate with the project manager, solution architect, infrastructure team, and vendors as needed to support successful delivery of technical solutions Contribute to developing and maintaining a data governance structure made up of a defined organizational model with policies, master plan, mobilization, implementation & operational guidelines & procedures Use skills to enable ongoing innovation of data management systems, processes and procedures to improve R/ED efficiency Desired Experience/Education Bachelor—s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 14 years— experience, Master—s degree with at least 12 years— experience or PhD with at least 6 years— experience in biomedical data management, assay development, specimen data management or related subject area Demonstrated proficiency with current software engineering methodologies, such as Agile, source control, project management and issue tracking Solid understanding of cloud computing. Preference will be given to candidates with AWS experience Solid understanding of Rest APIs and container strategies strongly preferred. Knowledge of database design and implementation Excellent skills in Python programming and experience in additional computer languages such as R, Python or Java Experience producing visualization of data sets (eg., R/shiny, Spotfire, etc) Solid understanding of both Windows and Linux operating systems is required Along with programming proficiency must have creativity, and show a strong capacity for independent thinking and the ability to grasp underlying biological questions Must thrive in a complex, dynamic environment while adapting to dynamically changing priorities Must have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills Must have excellent time management and interpersonal skills We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
