For more information, visit www.ethicon.com.The Staff Development Engineer plays a key role on the product development team within R&D. They have responsibility for the development and qualification of components working with design partners and outside vendors. They are responsible for the development and qualification of the manufacturing process. This may include components as well as the product assembly process and verification. This person plays a pivotal role in the design transfer to manufacturing phase of the project. This person will be joining a hard working and focused team on a critical project within the Robotic and Digital Solutions organization. This role will collaborate with internal design team members and outside manufacturing partners and vendors and help drive the development of the manufacturing system for the product.Key Responsibilities:* Supporting the development of multiple new product codes with differing technology across external supply base.* Supporting and influencing the design of the product with DFM and DFA inputs.* Development of complex assembly operations and fixture design / implementation at external manufacturers* Experience with multi-code assembly line bring up, development, error proofing and qualification.QualificationsEducation:* BS in: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material ScienceExperience and Skills:Required:* Expertise in complex multi-product end of line testing equipment: including mechanical design & optimization and software qualification.* Ability to configure and lead large scale data acquisition and processing off equipment in a cloud base.* Experience in assembly method development, fixture design, process development and optimization & error proofing.* PFMEA development and mitigation control implementation.Preferred:* Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.* Demonstrated skills working with external manufacturing teams.* Experience working in new product development projects & partnering with design teams.* Experience with laser welding, riveting, laser etching, soldering, test equipment design & development.* Experience working on projects within design control regulation.Other:* Up to 25% domestic travel* light lifting may be required at times* Assembly work, engineering build execution & testingJohnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
