Job Overview

The Interactive Media Group at Apple is looking for a highly motivated data analyst. You will be a critical part of a team focused on Big Data analytics applications for technologies such as CoreMedia and FaceTime and their underlying networking architecture.Key Qualifications* You have an understanding of and passion for statistical data analysis* You have experience in building large scale real-world backend and middle-tier systems in Java and/or Scala* You have an understanding of scaling Big Data applications* You have a knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Hbase, Zookeeper* You have an understanding of R or other statistical computing packages (commons-math)* You are an agile software development experience* You have an excellent problem solving and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences* You are a highly motivated, self-directed, fast learner* You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions* You have an ability to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving extraordinary quality* You are upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitudeDescriptionYou’ll be asked to create and implement solutions to help collect and analyze various data sets for troubleshooting and improving how our software behaves in real-world situationsEducation & ExperienceBA/BS in CS or equivalent work historyAdditional Requirements* Programming skills in JRuby and JavaScript Knowledge of C/C++/Objective-C a plus* Experience with any major Ruby web framework (Sinatra, Rails) a plus* Familiarity with Test Driven Development a plus* Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and Javascript a plus* Knowledge of data mining and visualization of large data sets a plus
