Job Overview

What you will do This position is responsible for the analysis and reporting of all transportation related metrics covering all UPG locations to satisfy the desired level of service and guarantee the optimization flows at the lowest possible cost. How you will do it

  • Extract freight, sales, inventory and delivery performance data on a daily basis from multiple ERP and transportation management systems to design and support all UPG freight reporting requirements.
  • Support the Logistics department as the UPG Super User for SAP, Kewill TMS and Proship TMS. User will be the subject matter expert and act as first level IT support for all Logistics related questions on functionality, defects and enhancements to the systems.
  • Analyze internal processes and procedures to recommend and assist in implementation of process improvements to help reduce waste and improve logistics processes leading to overall logistics cost reductions and or improvements in delivery performance.
  • Use VBA or other software to automate repetitive/monotonous data pulls, alteration, and presentation—eliminating non-value added workload.
  • Independently recognize cost-saving opportunities, and lead implementation among individuals or groups to drive the potential savings into actual tracked-savings.

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics related field, computer science, computer programming, accounting or engineering. Applicants who have completed a ‘coding boot-camp’ may also be considered.
  • Some travel to support meetings and development related to Corporate Logistics reporting and Logistics software enhancements and improvements.
  • Previous coding experience with VBA, Azure, SQL, or other database-beneficial coding tools or languages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making abilities, problems may be vaguely defined and require technical/operational practices.
  • Preferred

  • Preference given to candidates located in the Oklahoma City area, or those who can relocate to the area. This position could be remote from anywhere in the continental United States should we feel the candidate is a superb fit for the role.
  • Strong preference for applicants with computer science degrees, or previous coding experience.
  • Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • High proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including Excel (macros), Power Point and Access. Proficient in other report building software including: Tableau, Power BI, and Cognos Analytics.
  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
  • Leadership and decision making skills to support day to day logistics decisions in the absence of the Logistics Manger.
