As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will be a part of the Mujin R&D team, focusing on the algorithmic design, development, and deployment of computer vision applications for high-speed recognition. You will work directly with and expand on the world’s first 3D vision system for factory automation and logistics solutions.

Unlocking the potential of Vision Engineering: beyond deep learning for industrial robotics
Responsibilities:
- Solve cutting-edge scientific and technical challenges related to recognition and pose estimation of a very wide variety of objects in challenging scenarios
- Analyze and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms related to object detection and pose estimation, from both academic and industrial research, and implement and enhance them in a production environment
- Design, develop and evaluate the performance of highly scalable and accurate real-time computer vision applications in Python and C++
- Perform detailed tests, carry out performance analysis on algorithms, and use continuous integration tools to finely enhance the rapidly deployed algorithms
- Manage the integration and deployment of Mujin’s vision systems at customer sites, involving direct client interactions and rapid problem solving
Requirements:
- Master's degree/Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in computer science, robotics, or related field, with a combined minimum of three years of computer vision focused research/internship/work experience providing exposure to the following:
- Developing applications and tools in C++ and Python
- Developing and implementing algorithms for 3D object detection and recognition in various environments
- Performing camera calibration to ensure precise measurements in image processing and analysis
- 3D and 6D pose estimation to determine the orientation and position of objects in space
- 3D reconstruction to build detailed models from images and point cloud data, enhancing the accuracy of object detection and scene understanding
- Processing and analyzing point cloud data to create 3D models of environments or objects
- Willing to travel approximately 10% of the year, primarily within the Continental United States and Canada, with occasional trips to other international destinations
