Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid robot, Figure 02, is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build.
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel. In summary, the role will be to lead architecture and execution of all commercial and technology transactions for Figure from a legal perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing and executing all Figure’s commercial and technology transactions such as:
- Commercial agreements with Customers in which Figure is providing Robots
- Master Service Agreements, Pilot Agreements, etc
- Technology transactions in which Figure is doing a bespoke transaction with its technology or a strategic agreement
- Data & IP agreements, Co-developing AI models, etc.
- Strategic agreements in which Figure is collaborating with Partners for mutual benefit
- Strategic corporate transactions (JV’s, Strategic Investments, etc.), research & development collaboration, operational partnerships, etc.
- Responsible for hiring and managing external legal counsel
- Responsible for coordinating between business, engineering, and financial partners to set the right legal strategy for the Company
Requirements:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active Bar membership in California
- Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably including a mix of in-house experience and law firm / corporate roles
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Technical experience: Strong background in large AI and data transactions
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with robots
- Experiences with hardware sales or rental agreements
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $200,000 - $400,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
