Machine Learning Engineer - leading quantitative hedge fund.
We are currently partnered with one of the top performing quant funds of 2024 who are in the process of building out a new AI/ML group and they are looking for a machine learning engineer who is in the early-mid stages of their career to join the team.
The group was founded ~1 year ago so there is very little legacy code in place (most project work is greenfield). The group now employs seven people, and expects that number to grow in 2025. They have a need for someone hands-on who can help building out state-of-the-art deep learning systems which feed directly into all of their trading business units (both systematic and fundamental).
We are particularly interested in talking to people who have experience building end-to-end platforms with emphasis on entity relationship extraction, topic modeling and recommendation systems or individuals with exposure to quant finance.
You must possess the following:
- 2-7 years experience designing and implementing end-to-end ML systems, particularly in ranking and recommendation
- Strong coding skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience with feature stores, model serving infrastructure, and ML pipelines
- Knowledge of ML fundamentals including feature engineering, model selection, evaluation metrics and monitoring.
- Strong system design knowledge, focusing on scalability, reliability and maintainability
NOTE: this is not a researcher/scientist role. We are looking for strong engineering capabilities first and foremost.
