The On-Device Search for Apple powers the results for Spotlight, Siri, Safari, Photos, Mail, and more. We’re looking for a strong Engineering Program Manager with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex software platforms, tools and processes that deliver new end-to-end experiences that delight customers with a focus on machine learning. You will work with world class machine learning engineers and data scientists to improve the on-device search relevance in a privacy-first fashion using advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms to serve over 1 billion customers.
- Build and run project timelines with clear dependencies, critical path and systematic methodology to communicate status. Handle risks and mitigations, and re-plan as events warrant. Drive alignment across the organization and between teams
- Work across research and engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art machine learning solutions
- Coordinate and drive end-to-end projects from opportunity analyses, feature definition, and program execution.
- Provide clear, timely and objective communication, including regular program status updates and critical issues as needed to executive team
- Coordinate discussions and break down complex issues into discussion topics to drive engineering and design alignment with support from project team, maintaining an orientation toward teamwork and collaboration

- Drive on time delivery and deployment, identifying development and feasibility needs, establishing achievements for checkpoints and status updates
- Proactively identify issues and solutions, and marshal resources vital to attack and resolve. Coordinate with teams to identify issues, prioritize tasks and track risks to schedule and product quality, including cross-functional dependencies
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in driving large scale program building machine learning powered products specialized in improving search relevance
- Excellent program management skills including program structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently
- Have personally orchestrated the delivery of multiple significant client/server software products requiring large organizations (100+)
- Strong analytical skills and a curiosity to peel the onion to discover opportunities for impact and better user experience
- Capability to work across a large number of teams to enforce process and efficient outcomes in a data-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence
- BS/MS in EE/CS/CE or equivalent

Pay & Benefits- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
