PeopleTec is currently seeking a
Junior Machine Learning (ML) Developer to support our
Huntsville, AL location.
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior ML Developer with a strong foundation in machine learning, data science and a passion for learning and growth. This role involves supporting the development and deployment of machine learning models, contributing to generative AI initiatives, and assisting in cloud-based data pipeline management. As part of our dynamic AI team, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies while contributing to impactful projects under the mentorship of experienced professionals.
Duties
Machine Learning Development Support:
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining machine learning models.
- Collaborate with senior developers to implement algorithms and workflows.
- Support the deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of models.
- Apply version control best practices for managing development iterations.
- Engage with customers to assess requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Data Analytics
- Collect, clean, and organize large datasets for analysis.
- Develop and refine research questions to guide data analysis efforts.
- Use statistical and analytical techniques to extract insights from data.
- Visualize results through dashboards, charts, and reports to communicate findings effectively.
- Support decision-making processes by presenting data-driven recommendations.
Generative AI Contribution
- Support the refinement and training of generative AI models.
- Conduct data preprocessing and exploratory analysis.
- Contribute to model evaluation metrics and testing procedures.
Cloud And Data Pipeline Assistance
- Develop and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using tools like AWS and other platforms.
- Automate workflows and ensure pipeline reliability, security, and scalability.
- Perform routine audits and resolve pipeline issues.
Learning And Optimization
- Identify and address areas for model and code performance improvements.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and optimization efforts.
- Incorporate feedback and implement iterative refinements.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in machine learning, data analytics, or related fields (including internships or projects).
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar languages for data analysis and modeling.
- Basic understanding of machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with data collection, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
- Strong foundation in statistical and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for managing data pipelines.
- Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to engage with customers to translate requirements into solutions.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Travel: 10 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
Desired Skills
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience, including internships or hands-on projects.
- Basic knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with generative AI frameworks or techniques.
- Certifications in cloud technologies or machine learning.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
