Pay: $85 to $90/hour (Depending on experience)
Experience: 4 years in data science (or 2 years, if possess a master’s degree, as described above).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Econometrics or Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or equivalent field.
- Master’s degree in one of the above areas.

Conde Group is seeking a Data Scientist to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
- Prioritize asset management by developing wildfire risk models.
- Build computer vision models to enhance, accelerate, and automate asset inspection processes.
- Predict electric distribution equipment failures before they occur to enable proactive maintenance.
- Develop the analytical framework for our client's Public Safety Power Shutoff program.
- Optimize non-wires alternative resource portfolios, such as the Oakland Clean Energy Initiative, considering location and resource adequacy.
- Analyze customer demographics, program participation, and SmartMeter interval data to create targeted propensity models for customer-owned distributed energy resource technologies.
- Identify and investigate anomalous customer natural gas usage to detect and resolve hazardous customer-side leaks.
- Lead discussions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand key business needs and technical requirements.
- Scope and prioritize modeling projects to maximize business impact.
- Apply data science, machine learning, and analytical modeling methods to develop reproducible and defensible predictive models.
- Serve as the technical lead for computer vision model development, overseeing data labeling, model training, and evaluation.
- Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources across the company for model building and analysis.
- Independently write and document Python code for data science tasks, including feature engineering and machine learning modeling.
- Document and present data science experiments and findings to other data scientists and business stakeholders.
- Act as a peer reviewer for models and analyses developed by other data scientists.
- Develop and deliver summary presentations to business teams.
- Present findings and recommendations to executives and cross-functional management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business units and external agencies.
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of data science standards, processes (e.g., model evaluation, optimization, feature engineering), and best practices.
- Proficiency in software engineering, statistics, and machine learning techniques for data science deployment.
- Competency in commonly used data science and operations research programming languages, packages, and tools.
- Hands-on and theoretical experience with data science and machine learning models and algorithms.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and translate them into actionable decisions.
- Strong ability to explain technical concepts, including statistical inference, machine learning algorithms, software engineering, and model deployment pipelines.
- Solid understanding of mathematical and statistical principles underlying data science.
- Expertise in systems thinking and structuring complex problems.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop career-level data scientists in AI/ML techniques and technologies.
- Preferred experience with computer vision model development and AWS technologies (S3, GroundTruth, SageMaker).
