We are seeking a candidate who can work closely with R&D scientists and technicians to enhance data workflows, data collection, and data management in a biotech/pharma environment. The role requires hands-on experience in molecular biology, data automation, and coding to improve data integration, visualization, and workflow optimization.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Enhancing Data Workflows: Work with scientists to upgrade existing data practices, automate workflows, and troubleshoot inefficient processes.
- Data Collection & Integration: Ensure smooth data ingestion into Benchling, including legacy and current data, and optimize data tracking and reporting tools.
- Lab Data Management: Organize experimental data, dashboards, and metadata for easy access by scientists.
- Software & Hardware Optimization: Recommend and implement improvements in data storage, hardware, and software related to lab workflows.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with R&D, digital teams, and data scientists to standardize workflows and integrate new data technologies.
Must-Have Skills & Keywords:
- Technical Skills:
- SQL, Python, C#, C++ (for programming & data management)
- Data visualization (Tableau, Spotfire)
- LIMS (Lab Information Management Systems)
- Benchling (or GeneData, comparable lab data systems)
- Data ingestion, automation tools, and dashboard creation
- Biotech/Pharma-Specific Skills:
- Hands-on molecular biology experience (DNA/RNA workflows)
- PCR, cloning, plasmid design, sequencing (Sanger, NGS)
- Data analysis in biotech settings
- Industry Experience:
- Biotech or Pharmaceutical experience required
- Bioinformatics knowledge (nice to have)
- NGS (Next-Gen Sequencing) Data Analysis (nice to have)
- Soft Skills:
- Strong cross-functional collaboration (EU/US teams)
