Job Description:

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
We are seeking a highly strategic Chief of Staff for LinkedIn Chief AI officer (CAIO). The CAIO is responsible for AI strategy across LinkedIn and directly oversees the CoreAI organization that builds foundational AI technologies for LinkedIn. This individual will act as a thought partner to the CAIO and drive the day-to-day execution of key priorities, serving as a trusted advisor to the VPs of Engineering and the leadership teams.
This Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, advancing technological innovations, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and managing the operational rhythm of the team. This role requires a seasoned leader with domain expertise in AI, R&D and deep experience in strategic planning and organizational leadership to support and enhance our vision of connecting talent with opportunity at scale in the era of AI.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Leverage deep knowledge of AI to contribute to a long-term roadmap for the engineering organization that integrates both business and technical perspectives.
Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic planning.
Project Prioritization and Resource Allocation:
Prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively to balance new innovation with deployment of technologies that are more mature working closely with other engineering teams in product and infrastructure.
Drive prioritization, alignment, and execution with partners.
Ensure alignment of resource allocation with organizational goals.
Technology Innovation:
Drive tech innovation by identifying new opportunities for development based on market needs.
Collaborate with engineering leadership to create strategies and roadmaps for new innovations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Manage relationships and interdependencies with key stakeholders to drive alignment across vertical teams and infrastructure.
Facilitate communication and collaboration within and beyond CoreAI team, acting as a bridge between product and eng teams to facilitate collaboration.
Cultural Leadership:
Leverage existing relationships and understanding of LinkedIn culture to foster collaboration between R&D teams across LinkedIn
Amplify a positive, productive, and equitable work environment
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of experience in AI, engineering, strategy, or a related field.
Proven track record of leading significant AI driven product development or strategic initiatives in a technology-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (e.g., MS in Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent experience preferred. Experience in AI is a must.
Significant experience working with AI teams, software engineering leadership, technical teams, and individual contributors.
Ability to communicate authoritatively at a sufficient technical depth.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with LinkedIn's engineering teams and leadership.
Industry experience building AI/ML applications
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The pay range for this role is $238,000 to $390,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
