The ideal candidate will have a background in robotics, with an interest in hands-on development with an actively running commercial fleet of delivery robots. The candidate will possess a background in one or more areas of robotic systems (localization, machine learning, motion planning, perception, or simulation). The candidate will be paired with a Senior Engineer to serve as a mentor during the 12-week paid internship. This is an opportunity to grow personally and professionally, while innovating in a fast-paced environment and helping to improve our robotic platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a mutually beneficial internship project aligned with the candidate’s interests and the current priorities of ST Engineering Aethon.
- Work with a cross-functional team of engineers to solve complex, real-world robotic problems.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical degree.
- Strong software engineering background with a knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.
- Experience using modern C++ (C++11, C++14, C++17).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience using Linux as a development environment.
Desirable
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Computer vision experience.
- Motion planning experience.
- Localization experience
- Experience developing software using Python or Go.
