About the Role
We are seeking an experienced ML Research Engineer to drive innovation in machine learning for small molecule drug discovery. This role is focused on advancing generative and predictive models for molecular systems, blending state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning with computational physics and chemistry to enable groundbreaking discoveries.
As a senior member of the team, you will design and execute experiments, develop novel ML architectures, and mentor junior team members. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary group of researchers, engineers, and biochemists to create scalable solutions for real-world challenges at the intersection of AI and molecular science.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research and engineering initiatives focused on generative and predictive molecular modeling.
- Design, implement, and analyze experiments at scale, shipping cutting-edge models to production.
- Develop novel techniques using approaches like diffusion models, equivariant architectures, and reinforcement learning, inspired by advancements in adjacent AI domains.
- Collaborate across functional teams to integrate models into robust AI platforms.
- Mentor and guide junior team members and research interns.
About You
- Proven ability to lead research projects from ideation to implementation.
- Expertise in deep learning, with a track record of designing innovative architectures and training methods.
- Experience running large-scale distributed training experiments and analyzing results.
- Strong programming skills with a focus on clean, efficient, and maintainable codebases.
- A deep curiosity for interdisciplinary challenges at the intersection of AI, physics, and biology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in machine learning, computer science, or related fields, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Published research in generative models, such as diffusion models, neural ODEs, or other state-of-the-art methods.
- Experience with molecular systems, including protein structures or small molecules, or comparable experience with point cloud data.
