The ideal candidate will be data-curious, a team-player, who is motivated to provide direct and digital marketing clients with innovative, profitable solutions to support data-driven decision-making. This role requires a strong foundation in data science principles, a keen interest in marketing, and the ability to communicate findings effectively. The successful candidate will have experience building machine learning models, programming in SAS and/or Python, working with large-scale databases, and data manipulation. This position will report to the Vice President of Data Science.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Independently build predictive machine learning models to meet business requirements of direct and digital marketers
- Conduct ad hoc and exploratory data analyses to identify changes, patterns and trends in marketing data
- Produce analyses to compare, validate and improve modeling solutions
- Evaluate third party data
- Create new model variables
- Develop and maintain predictive modeling pipelines in Python and SAS
- Provide guidance and creative suggestions to internal and external clients for creating or improving modeled solutions
- Conduct thorough quality assurance for models in Production, ensuring reliability and accuracy
- Participate in client discovery meetings to identify modeling objectives and data requirements
- Participate in proof of concert presentations to explain modeling approach and findings
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data science and marketing
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Predictive Modeling, Data Mining, Economics or another quantitative field
- 2+ years’ experience building predictive models with machine learning algorithms
- Experience applying machine learning algorithms in Python (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn)
- SAS programming at an intermediate level (Base, STAT and some Macro; or Visual Analytics and Visual Statistics)
- Basic understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and an overall keen understanding of technology
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills and extensive attention to detail with the ability to investigate and resolve issues with raw data
- Ability to think critically and creatively about new ways our data can add value to our clients
- Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects independently and simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner
- Previous experience in Direct and Digital Marketing Industry is a plus
- Knowledge of Linux and parallel processing is a plus
- Must be a flexible team player who is committed to having a good time while doing a great job
The base salary for this role is between $80,0000 and $120,000 plus a corporate bonus. Alliant considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels and other relevant skills and qualifications.
This position is an in-person role (possible hybrid in the future) at Alliant’s office in northern Westchester County, New York.
