About The Team
When you join our Core Analytics Team, you will be part of a centralized analytics team with all the benefits that entails: a world-class peer group to support you, centrally maintained tools, learning & development, and more. We collaborate closely with our Engineering, Product, and Business teams to deliver data-driven insights and capabilities for our stakeholders.
For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $132,000-$254,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

About The Role
Roku is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Core Analytics team and focus on our ads business. With a focus on creating impact, you will collaborate with business partners, product managers, and engineers to solve challenging business/analytical problems. This role will play an integral part in influencing business decisions by identifying trends, developing measurement frameworks through designing A/B tests or leveraging causal inference methods, and creating customer segmentation based on behaviors and CLV to provide actionable insights and recommendations for targeting strategies. You will own problems end-to-end, delivering insights and models to drive customer conversions and building data pipelines, dashboards, and automated reports to support them. The successful analyst will tell a compelling data story that reads beyond the numbers and provides strategic insights. Being a thought partner to our executive business leaders, good communication and presentation will be a crucial aspect of this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build reporting data pipelines and dashboards to ensure stakeholders can access accurate, timely, and actionable insights
- Design and execute A/B tests to optimize performance across Roku’s platform
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand key business questions that will accelerate and optimize streaming subscription payments for Roku
- Analyze structured and unstructured data and communicate insights to help stakeholders solve business problems, identify trends and make data-driven decisions
- Deliver presentations to clearly and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Translate complex technical topics into clear business recommendations
- Provide feedback directly to leadership and stakeholders across the company on performance of various initiatives and untapped opportunities
We’re excited if you have
- 4+ years of relevant experience as a data analyst or data scientist in technology, e-commerce, finance, or ad-tech (heavy AdTech)
- Excellent command of SQL and experience working with Big Data
- Experience coding in R or Python
- Experience with data visualization platform like Tableau, Looker, etc (coachable*)
- Statistics knowledge: A/B testing, statistical inference, interpretation of data, etc.
- Familiarity with the ad tech terminology and landscape, including prior experience working with DSP, SSP, ad server, and/or DMP data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ownership mindset, you own end to end lifecycle of a product starting from ideation, rollout to post-launch performance tracking
- Academic background in math, physics, computer science, economics
