Next Ventures is seeking a Data Scientist. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data science, analytics, and visualization to optimize our operations, improve fleet performance, and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze complex datasets from fleet management systems, logistics platforms, and customer data to uncover trends and actionable insights.
- Predictive Modeling: Develop predictive models to improve route planning, reduce fuel costs, and enhance fleet maintenance schedules.
- Data Visualization: Create compelling dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and Python visualization libraries to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, finance, and IT teams to align data-driven strategies with business goals.
- Data Engineering Integration: Utilize Azure Databricks and Data Lake technologies to process and analyze large-scale datasets.
- Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods to assess operational efficiency, driver performance, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Tool Integration: Assist in integrating data sources, including NetSuite, into analytics pipelines for seamless reporting and analysis.
- Self-Directed Problem Solving: Work independently to identify and address critical data challenges, ensuring timely delivery of impactful results.
- Reporting & Presentation: Present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams, using clear and persuasive communication.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, analytics, and visualization, preferably in transportation or logistics.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Data Lake for processing and analyzing large datasets.
- Expertise in using Power BI to create interactive and insightful dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.
